faculty, staff or students which constitutes harassment of students
or employees on the basis of gender, age, religion, race, color,

Harassment is defined as verbal or physical conduct which has
the intent or effect of unreasonably interfering with an individual
or group's educational experience or working conditions, or creating
an intimidating, hostile, or offensive educational or working
environment. Harassment on the basis of race, color, sex, religion,
national origin, sexual orientation or disability includes harassment
of any individual in terms of a stereotyped group characteristic,
or because of that person's identification with a particular group.
Sexual
harassment is defined as conduct which is either explicit in nature
or which might reasonably be perceived as affecting educational
decisions, interfering with a student's educational experience
or adversely affecting an employee's working environment. Within
this definition are unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual
favors in exchange for grades or services, and other physical
or verbal conduct or written communication of an intimidating,
hostile or offensive sexual nature. Violations of this policy
by faculty, administrators, staff or students will lead to disciplinary
action, including suspension, expulsion, or termination. Any faculty
member who feels s/he has been discriminated against should refer
to the Faculty Handbook. Administrators and Support Staff of the
Urban College should refer to the Personnel Policies Manual. When
a student believe he/she has been discriminated against on the
basis of race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, or
handicap, the student shall have recourse to the Student Grievance
Procedure.
