What is the Urban College of Boston?
The
Urban College of Boston (UCB) is an independent, co-educational
two-year institution located in the heart of downtown Boston. UCB
is chartered by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to offer programs
of study leading to the Associate of Arts degree in Early Childhood
Education, Human Services Administration and General Studies. UCB also offers a range of certificate programs and continuing education
courses.
Accreditation
The
Urban College of Boston is accredited by the Commission on Institutions
of Higher Education of the New England Association of Schools and
Colleges, Inc. (NEASC) Accreditation of an institution of higher
education by the New England Association indicates that it meets
or exceeds criteria for the assessment of institutional quality
periodically applied through a peer review process. An accredited
college or university is one which has available the necessary resources
to achieve its stated purposes through appropriate educational
programs, is substantially doing so, and gives reasonable evidence
that it will continue to do so in the future.
