Tracey
L. Thompson appointed Director of Institutional Advancement at Urban
College
Dr.
Linda Edmonds Turner, President of Urban College of Boston, has
announced the appointment of Tracey L. Thompson as Director of Institutional
Advancement at Urban College. Ms. Thompson assumed her position
in July 2003.
Ms.
Thompson has been in non-profit development for the past 13 years,
most recently serving as Executive Director of the National Kidney
Foundation of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Vermont.
Prior to that, she served as Director of Development for Easter
Seals Greater Hartford Rehabilitation Center and Director of Development
of The Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children.
From 1990 –1999, she was associated with the American Diabetes
Association in a variety of development roles, including Regional
Development Director for New England, and Senior Development Manager
for the Boston Metro area.
A
graduate of the University of Maine at Orono, she has degrees in
both Journalism and Broadcasting/Film. Previous to her career in
development, she spent ten years as a broadcast news reporter and
anchor, and also served as Executive News Producer/Assignment Editor
at WBZ-AM 1030, Boston.
Ms.
Thompson volunteers for a variety of non-profit organizations and
events. Her professional affiliations include the Chamber of Commerce,
the National Society of Fund Raising Executives and the United Way.
She is married to Jay Thompson, and they have two grown sons.
