Last Updated: May 12, 2023

*Due to the changing nature of the pandemic, please note that these policies are subject to change.*

  • The campus is open on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10am-6pm. Everyone entering the College’s space will be encouraged to use hand sanitizer upon entrance. All rooms are equipped with air filters.

Staff will be available remotely on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays from 10 am – 6 pm, but campus will be closed.

If you wish to make an appointment online or in person outside of class hours, please visit the WCONLINE page with this link: https://urbancampus.mywconline.com

  • As of the expiration of the national emergency concerning the COVID-19 pandemic on May 11, 2023, UCB strongly encourages – but does not require – all students, faculty, and staff to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Vaccinations against COVID-19 remain safe and effective at preventing serious illness.

Regardless of vaccination status, if you feel sick or have tested positive for COVID-19, do not come to campus.

Students, faculty, and staff attending UCB-sponsored events at other locations will be required to follow the COVID-19 protocols of that location.

  • Masking when on the UCB campus is currently optional.

Regardless of whether you are wearing a mask, if you feel sick or have tested positive for COVID-19, do not come to campus.

Students, faculty, and staff attending UCB-sponsored events at other locations will be required to follow the COVID-19 protocols of that location.

  • If you start to feel sick, stay home or go home. Anyone with symptoms of COVID-19 should get tested before returning to UCB’s campus. If you test positive, follow the appropriate isolation protocols per the CDC: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/your-health/isolation.html.

Staff and faculty should notify their supervisor and/or Karen Corbin, Controller & Director of Human Resources (HR), at karen.corbin@urbancollege.edu, if they are isolating due to COVID-19. Students should notify their professor and/or Rosana Perella, Director of Student Services & Support, at rosana.perella@urbancollege.edu, if they are isolating due to COVID-19.

  • If you were exposed to the virus that causes COVID-19, the CDC recommends that close contacts should get tested on the fifth day after exposure even if no symptoms arise and should wear a high-quality mask for 10 days after exposure. Detailed CDC guidance is available here: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/your-health/if-you-were-exposed.html.

If you were exposed but do not have symptoms and have not tested positive, you are still eligible to come to campus but must wear a high-quality mask at all times while on campus.

  • Urban College will provide resources to ensure you are supported and are able to continue your coursework remotely. Please contact Rosana Perella, Director of Student Services and Support, at rosana.perella@urbancollege.edu if you test positive, are a close contact, and/or need additional support.

  • There are many places in Massachusetts offering the COVID-19 vaccines – including local pharmacies and national pharmacy chains (e.g., CVS, Walgreens), community health centers, hospitals, and the state and local governments. Some places require an appointment and others allow you to receive a vaccine without an appointment. You can search for vaccine availability near you by typing in your zip code at this link: https://vaxfinder.mass.gov/.

Per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (the CDC), “you are up to date with your COVID-19 vaccines if you have completed a COVID-19 vaccine primary series and received the most recent booster dose recommended for you by CDC. … If you have completed your primary series, but are not yet eligible for a booster, you are also considered up to date.”
